Can i get files out of a computer that wont turn on??

It depends on if the hard drive got fried or not when the computer quit working.  Generally, if the hard drive is OK, you can just pop the back off of the computer, unplug the harddrive, and use it in another computer.  Make sure you are grounded (electrically) first or you could still inadvertently fry the drive with an electrostatic discharge.  If you have never done this before, I would take it to a professional, someone like Best Buy.  If you want to try it yourself, look to someplace like this - http://www.ehow.com/how_2067915_change-h...

Take out the internal hard drive and use it as a secondary hard drive on a new computer........you can buy a USB connected case for it and it will be just like a portable hard drive..........
