I plan to have a Chinese takeaway tonight, but, i'll be home alone, and cannot eat the whole thing to myself.

So if i ate half, and froze half, is this safe?

I'd be having chips, beef chow mein, egg fried rice and curry sauce ..

Help please ?

  1. It would be fine and probably the best method to preserve it. Just put it in a well sealed container.

  2. when do you plan to eat the left overs??

tomorrow lunch why freeze it this weekend yes

as for food poisoning how do you know if it is not just your allergies..

sorry I don.t believe that stuff

If you are reasonably clean there is a better reason for stomach problems.

  3. Hi Princess ,

No , It won`t cause any bad to you unless

it is formed by bacteria I mean contaminaed ....then  if  you have it ...

Food poising is not just by freezing ..

    Chill ......

  4. Food can spoil if it is not stored properly. Freezing itself does not cause food poisoning, pathogenic bacteria do. If the food were already spoiled, then freezing it would not save it.

But frozen Chinese food sounds like it would not be as tasty as fresh.

  5. Don't freeze the chips, they will be soggy.  Everything else is o.k..

  6. no anything with beef poultry or pork etc cannot be refrozen just like meat you get at a store says to not refreeze it. you could get food poisoning from this. if you are ordering it today just put it in the fridge and eat it later. but after 2 days in the fridge i would throw it out.

  7. Keep them in a clean and dry container and with tight lid and it will keep well for quiet some time.

  8. why do you have to freeze it ? Refrigerate and eat it the next day.You never know how long it was kept in the restaurant...If I were you I would eat it in the next meal....

  9. Don't Freeze it. Store it in a container. should be ok. as long as you eat the rest within the next 3 days

  10. It'll be fine, though the chips won't be nice.  The bacteria will have been killed if it was properly cooked (you'd know by now if it wasn't), so as long as you freeze it quick it'll stay reasonably sterile.

Just think, you can buy pre-cooked food like that in any supermarket, Iceland is full of the stuff.  No-one dies from eating frozen ready-meals (well they do but that's because they're unhealthy, not through food poisoning)
