it starts on august or september

I am using a stationary bike is that the same because i know that 4 miles on that equals one mile of running

and i've doing 16-20 miles daily so do you think i will be in shape for track by then.

just to let you know my progress before.... i went on a jog with long strides and got tired after the first mile

  1. Your body will adjust quickly once you start running multiple miles. My advice is to extend your run by a few minutes each day, start at a very slow comfortable pace and add a few minutes every day. Pretty soon you will be able to run 5 miles. Then, once you've reached your millage goal, you can begin working on improving your speed. Biking doesn't exactly equal running, even if you bike several miles. Running is more cardiovascular difficult, so focus on running instead of subbing biking as a workout.

  2. Where do you live because during those months it is time for cross country season which is running through woods and hills and all the good stuff track does not have. Make sure you are not talking about cross country. Anyways you should go outside and run but take it slow. The best thing to do is talk to the coach of the team and get all the information from them and get any questions answered.

  3. You should practice running the mile without the bike. You will be exhausted after every mile you run but you will recover after a short amount of time. Push your self as much as you can and practice around 5 days a week. Good luck

  4. what u gotta do is distance runs. start at low milage like 2-3 miles EZ. slowly build up to like 7-10 milesEZ. once you get the milage in and have the endurance, then work on speedwork every two days like 400's and 800's. i know this beacause i run track. my mile time is a 4:30+
