Can i get in trouble with the police for making prank fone calls?

my friend and me were pranking these people tonight but we weren't threatening them at all. we weren't being violent or anything we just kept calling them and repeating everything they said. they kept calling us back since we didn't block our number and the last time we called someone picked up and said it was a luitendant and they were going to come over to talk to my parents. were they legit or just like lol kidding?

It really depends on the laws of your state. In some states, it could be a crime to make prank phone calls, even if your intentions were only in good fun.
