Can i get into cornell?

i have a GPA of 3.5 and SAT of 1760. ive taken two SAT subject tests and gotten 650 in each. i have many music awards, honors. played for senior citizens, the blind, raised money at benefit concerts, formed my own org., vice president of another org. im also attending paris this summer for a piano summer festival. in school, i am a member of the national honor society and german honor society. i have also taken 8 community college courses so far and two APs in school. what do you think my chances of getting into cornell are?

  1. Cornell, like all top schools, look for:

    -- 3.8 - 4.0 unweighted GPA

    -- at least a 2100 SAT I score

    -- at least 2 SAT II tests (with 700 or higher in each)

    -- A college application essay that says a lot about you.

    -- A rigorous academic schedule with a lot of AP courses (5 AP classes or more by the time you graduate)

    -- Extracurricular activities that showcase your leadership skills.

    Your extracurriculars look good, but your GPA and SAT scores are too low.  You also don't have enough AP courses.  Cornell's going to be a bit of a reach.


  2. Check the board for Cornell at collegeconfidental.com, it will give you a better idea of what kind of people were accepted in the past vs. the people who weren't accepted, as well as other info on the school.
