Can i get into france with a swiss visa ?

i was wondering is it possible, or do i need a french visa for that. the hotel prices in switzerland is just ridiculous, so i was thinking of getting a hotel in france and commute to geneva from the border. any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

  1. No, I´m sorry, you need another visa to go to France. Better check it out further with a French embassy, consulate or your own authorities handling these things. Good luck and I hope you will get to France, have a nice visit!


  2. Switzerland is not (yet) part of the Schengen zone (last plan was by Nov 2008).

    This means that a visa for Switzerland does not allow you to enter the Schengen countries and vice versa, so you would have to apply for a visa at the French embassy in your country

    Note - you would need to make sure it is "multi-entry" as well and not just "single entry" if you want to commute between the two
