Can i get lead poisoning?????

i was painting my house today. it was a white paint and i got paint all over me after we were through. is there any chance i might get lead poisoning?

  1. as long as the paint did not get in your mouth you wont have lead poisoning.


  2. ZERO CHANCE PLAIN AND SIMPLE

    You would need to drink 1 cup and that wouldnt be enough lead to get you sick.

    Nevertheless if your paranoid, dont worry, chelation therapy removes it in a few days.

  3. Hardly any chance from your new paint.  Architectural paint made in or imported to the US after 1978 must have <0.06% lead in the dried paint.  The level of Pb in such paint is <0.02% although there may be some elevations in anticorrosion paints with a lot of zinc.

    You can get lead poisoned from old paint, but that's a different question to ask.

  4. Della and Gatcllc are 100% correct.

    River is 50% correct.    Chelation SHOULD NEVER BE used except in the extreme.   Chelation itself has caused death in the past and kidney damage and failures.
