I am currently on an overseas/international student visa lasting for 3 years (so it expires in 2010). I obtained my visa by applying for a BA programme in advertising. When i arrived, the college turned out to be somewhat of a hoax that is still fooling the government but that is out of my hands. My main reason for wanting to change my student visa status is that i'v found a teachers training course that enables to me qualify and teach at a training centre that i'm currently working for as an admin assistant. I do not wish to attend the college in september but my visa status leaves me no choice. The college was bombarded a few months ago by the education accreditors and was forced to change some of its programmes because it fell short on qualifications, unfortunately 1 of the major changes the college made was to stop giving degree programmes and replace them with an "advanced professional diploma" which i am least convinced is recognized let alone equivalent to a BA degree.
