Hey, I am just turning 16 and was looking into getting a ged. I heard from some people that as soon as i am ready for the test, i go to take it and get my GED if i pass it. From others I have heard that I have to pass the test, and then wait until I would be in my senior year of highschool to actually get the GED. How does it work?

  1. yes you can...legal age to drop out of school is 16 so that being the case you can apply to take your ged at that age although i do believe that you still wont be able to get a drivers license if you drop out

  2. Depends on your circumstances, like if you're an emancipated minor. Typically you have to wait until you're 18, but don't think that a GED is the easy way out. Unless you have a college degree, your GED will do nothing but make you look bad.

  3. Yes...some places you can do it at your own high school. I'm not sure when you actually get teh GED (at what age)
