Can i get on the internet if i dont have a wireless connection with my PSP

Question

I was at gamestop and one of the employees said you could by using the connection on your wired computer. he said he did it once by using a USB cord.but he also said it was complicated getting it set up. so basically what he did was he took the internet from his wired connected computer and transferred the connection through the USB onto his PSP but he still had to sit at the computer to use the internet on his PSP because of the USB connection

the psp supports wifi only. there is no other way, the guy was wrong or lying.
