Can i get phone call from my boyfriend in iraq?

i am japanese and live in japan. my boyfriend is american and he is in military. he is leaving to iraq next month.

i heard that i can't call him. so i'm wondering whether he can call me in japan.

i know he can call to the US, but im not sure he can call to japan.

and if he can, how much would it cost??

well my brother is in the military and he calls me but i live in the US but i dont see why he cant call you.

Yes he will be able to call you, he will need to purchase a calling card and call you. If there are any bases in Japan ( which I'm sure there is) he could dial the a dsn of the bases in japan speak to the base operator and they will call your number. The operator will connect the calls.
