Im getting my 2 bottom wisdom teeth taken out and im getting general anesthetic. I'm 16. Weigh 135 lbs. How can i get vicodin or oxyconton prescribed for me after its over? I prefer oxyconton as i know its much stronger and i also know my stomach doesnt get upset because of painkillers because i took a vicodin once because i was in a lot of pain. Could i just ask the doctor for oxyconton? (and if he says no i'll ask for vicodin)

  1. You will get a prescription for both antibiotics and a painkiller after your surgery, no matter what (unless you specifically don't ask for it). It's standard procedure to prescribe these things. Most doctors will prescribe hydrocodone (Vicodin) instead of oxycodone because oxycodone is a schedule II drug, meaning it has more potential to be abused than a schedule III (Vicodin).

If he does prescribe Vicodin and the pain is still too much to handle, talk to him about getting a stronger drug or upping your dosage, and he'll usually write up another one for you.

Hope that helped; best of luck!

  2. oxycontin is extremely addictive...a high dose could actually kill you. oxycontin is comparable to heroine, only it's in pill form. a doctor isn't going to prescribe it to you for wisdom teeth. i had my wisdom teeth taken out and it didn't even hurt, they gave me codine (tylenol 3) and I was fine. the doctor might give you vicodin, which is basically equivalent to a really small dose of oxy (vicoden is also addictive).  i know several people who have become heroine addicts and quite a few of them started out addicted to pain pills such as oxycontines, which were prescribed to them by doctors. i advise you not to take oxys.

  3. Wow.....already on schedule II drugs....at 16!  This is something your parent will have to do.....

Usually an Aleve or Tylenol is enough.....
