Since I can't decide a country I think a big deciding factor might be if I can get work while doing an exchange! It's for high school. I have my EU citizenship. Is getting work even allowed while exchanging as a high school student? or might it depend on the program I choose to use?

  1. Heii, Im from Switzerland, and Im making at the moment an exchange year in the US. The most, or even all organizations don't allow you to work. I'm making an exchange year with the organization AFS. One of the main rules there is no work. You can't work without workpermission in another country. You should find a job befor you leave and after....! The goal of the exchange isn't to earn money, it's to learn something about the culture....!

  2. i think it is regulations according to your program. like one of ours that is stupid is that last year we had this girl named chi, and she wanted to go out for track and she had to switch host families because her host dad was one of the coaches......so i would just check with your program.

  3. it will probably depend on the program - some allow you to work, others don't.

it has a lot to do with the country, too

Good luck and have a great time!
