Can i get yahoo mail with verizons blackberry curve?8330?

when i go onto yahoo and put in my number is says that it does not offer mobile alerts to verizon users?....does anyone know what this means??....

You can configure Yahoo using Verizon's BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) setup. You can log in and configure your e-mail accounts. Verizon's BIS web site login is:
