  1. Should babies drink water?

"Don't give extra water to infants younger than 6 months and don't give more than 6 ounces a day to babies between 6 and 12 months of age. Water triggers babies' immature kidneys to flush away sodium, which can disrupt normal brain activity and cause seizures... 'The smaller the baby, the smaller amount of water it takes to do harm.' The best way to hydrate a thirsty baby is with breast milk or formula--and you should never dilute formula with extra water."

  2. of course! Just make sure it's not carbonated or with extra additives.

  3. YES!  She does need to stay hydrated.

  4. Yeah, You can give her cooled boiled water, If you suspect she is dehydrated, You really need to get her to see the doctor. That can be very serious for a young baby, Take her to be on the safe side. Or ring the NHS helpline for advice the number is 08454647

  5. oh yes you can give her water. i gave my son water all the time starting at 2 months. i heard that you werent suppose to give them water either but i asked my pediatrician and he said that i can give him water but only about an oz. or so because they just dont want them filling up on water. they're suppose to be gaining weight and they need there calorie intake.

  6. Yes you can give babies water, make sure it has been boiled and make it a little warm cause cold water can make their tummies hurt. Also, Don't substitute the Milk with water. Use it as an addition. And of coarse use your discretion and don't use carbonated and sugared alternatives. If you are concerned have a chat to your child and maternal health nurse as they will have the latest information on what is best for your little one.

    Good luck
