my 3 yr. old daughter has gotten a runny/stuffy nose. I have some chlor-mes-d that was prescribed to her but it is over a year old. Is it safe?

  1. I would say no try Motrin it works

    Good Luck

  2. No.... That is way to long, most prescription meds are only good for about 5 weeks or so.. If you have another prescription, then use that one, otherwise you should go back to the doctor...

  3. If the exp. date is old, do not use it! Those many people believe that medication will not be as potent because it is old, some become dangerous. Five years ago I took expired sleeping pills (2) and they almost killed me. Some antibotics do the same. Please if the expiration date is past on any medication - throw it out - or flush it.

  4. There should be an exp. date, and with medicine especially you don't want to go too much past the  exp date, b/c some last and others don't and you don't want to hurt her.  you can always call your pharmacy and ask how long it is usually safe for.
