  1. Here's an extremely good website that will walk you through it. I hope this helps!!

    http://jackiesguineapiggies.com/bathingy...

    Good luck!!

  2. Yes. Use baby shampoo in luke warm water. Don't pour water over its' head. You can towel dry or use a no heat setting on a hairdryer.

  3. You can give them a bath, but I wouldn't reccomend doing it too often, as it may cause them to get dry skin or neumonia. If you do give them a bath, be very gentle. If you go on youtube.com search guinea pig baths, and then you will see how to do it best, and properly.

  4. OH YEA! You can use a little bit of baby shampoo or small pet shampoo..OR you can use dry shampoo..It's more like a powder..I'm not sure how to use it..But I heard you can get it at PetSmart Or Petco..But if you use the regular, shampoo and water...Make the water not cold and not hot..Just luke warm..And do what you do basically in the shower..Get your guinea pig(s) wet..Put a nickel size..Maybe more..(Depends on the size of your piggy) and rub it in in there fur and and all over..But not near there eyes or somewhere where it could fall into there eyes..Then of course..Rinse it out..And when all the shampoo is rinsed out..You can towel dry them..And maybe put them in a warm room for a couple minutes...

(But I wouldn't do it all the time..They are naturally clean animals most the time!!!)

    Hope I helped!!!

  5. We give our longhaired guinea pig a "shower" in the kitchen sink.  I hold him firmly but comfortably in 1 hand & work quickly with the other hand.  Although there is shampoo made specifically for small animals, you can use kitten shampoo.  I mostly use cruelty-free baby shampoo from the natural food store.  I seldom get him wet further up than his shoulders.

Afterward, I towel him dry a bit, cover my lap with a towel & he sits there for combing & trimming if necessary.  I also check his nails to see if they need a trim & inspect him for any lumps or other concerns.  Carrot chunks are a *big* part of this process.

If we need to wash our little guy in cold weather, we have the heater on & work as quickly as possible.  A blowdrier on the lowest setting can help get him dry faster, & some piggies actually enjoy this.

A breeder once told me that guinea pigs can be bathed monthly, but our vet says "as needed" & I try to wash ours every week or 2 in hot weather & only when necessary in cold weather.

  6. Okay right it's fine to give them a bath as long as you don't get from their ears forward wet.

You need to make sure to use sensitive/baby/guinea pig shampoo to avoid irritation to their skin.

Put them in an empty bath one at a time and use cups of water from the tap to pour on them. make sure it's warm, but not burning. then wash the fur like you would your own hair.

Wrap them up in a towl afterwards and make sure they stay inside until they're bone dry and warm

Good luck and have fun :]

  7. i mean u can but some hate water and u cant give those a bath

  8. yes but don't fill the water up very high and get some pet shampoo at pet stores or use baby shampoo. don't get the shampoo near their eyes either. plus use warm water not to cold not to hot.

also there is a guinea pig shampoo wear you don't get them wet called quick and clean instant shampoo.

    hope this helps!:D

  9. You can definitely give him a bath but you have to make sure it is some sort of baby shampoo or pet shampoo. I use Johnson's Extra Conditioning Shampoo for babies. First, you rinse him with some nice warm water. (not too hot and not too cold). next you add some shampoo(not too much). Last, you rinse him down again with some nice warm water. I normally dry him with a towel and then snuggle him up with his favorite little blanket and give him some parsley to let him relax.
