we come to india for holidays in febr.07 we want to trip arround by train. we want to start near -" K2 "- gillgit and than down to the south along the westcoast bombay, poona, goa, kerala. we arrived at dehli. from there we want to go to amritsar. cross the boarder there to lahore, and then to the north. is there a train? direct from dehli,- or from amritsar, or is it not possible to go to pakistan by train from india? we need informations about that, because we can`t fly straight to pakistan ans then back home from dehli or goa or something else, because it is verry verry more expensive.

  1. Yes it is possible. But bear in mind that you CAN NOT take a direct route. you will first have to travel to the railway station connecting Pakistan and India (i guess that would be the Attari Station). Or you can cross the Wahgah Border and enter Lahore.

Whatever you do, you will have to take another connecting trip from there. From Lahore, you can take any of the many trains or planes that commute between lahore and islamabad. There also are bus services between the two cities using the Motorway.

  2. i feel you can go fist go to amrithsar and you get a train to cross the border

  3. Going from one country to another is not just a matter of catching a train - you need valid passport, visa, travel arrangements etc. Its best to check with a local travel agent who deal with such matters daily or checkout the embassy website of Pakistan - they must have answers for some of the routine questions.

India and Pakistan have thousands of unemployed students who should be able to research this information for you - for almost free or a small fee - which you must be able to afford if you are planning on such an extensive trip.

  4. i think you could because it is near from india but maybe not

  5. you canot go directly from delhi to islamabad

if you go punjab(amrathasur)you can cross the border by train

then you may get the train
