Can i go straight from being a Military Police cop to being a detective, without having to be a street cop??

Your Military police background should make it easier to get to detective on the basis of previous experience, but you will not be able to make a direct swap from one to the other without the intermediate step of being a general duties officer.

No. Veteran points only count toward being hired as an officer. Investigators are promoted from within.

No you must put many years in as a beat officer and do many years of good police work - then you may make detective.

You've got to go through the academy for your state, then put in serious patrol (street) time. Civilian law enforcement is MUCH different than MP work. In addition, civilian LE agencies all vary in how they handle things.

An agency can move you to an investigations position only after you've demonstrated you've got the basic (street patrol) experience well in hand.
