Can i go to graduate school for Psychiatry if i get a BS in Business administration!?

Question

I transfered from a community college with an A.A degree to a 4 year college. I am going into my second semester this fall. So after the fall i will only have a year left to complete my BS in business, but now i have been thinking of becoming a psychiatrist. Can i go to graduate school for Psychiatry after i complete my BS in business?? Or do i have to have an undergrad degree in pychology/science or something of that nature to get into the grad program for psychiatry??

Psychiatry requires a medical degree, so it would be four years of medical school after your BS and then a several year residency program.  

You may wish to consider psychology which would require a Masters or Doctorate (PhD).

You have to attend 4 years of medical school, then you have to attend a school that teaches psychiatry.   A business degree won't help you out a whole lot, but the 4 years of college will at least help you get into medical school.

If you mean psychology (psychiatry is a specialty of medical doctors) then yes, there is a field of psychology ideally suited for a business grad.  That field is I/O Psych (Industrial/Organizational Psychology).  It's the psychological study of organizations and how people interact in the work world.  

The further from business you want to study, the more likely you will be required to take some prerequisite courses first.  Some areas might require you take as much as a year of prerequisites.

Many counseling programs don't require a specific undergraduate major.  You might want to consider those as well.

If you do indeed mean psychiatry (and not psychology) then you will need to get into medical school.  You can get into medical school with a BS in Business but it will require considerable additional coursework in the sciences.
