  1. you can go to jail for shoplifting anywhere

  2. if you are AD you will at minimum , face an AR 15 and possibly a court martial.

if you are a dependent:  Minimum: barred from ever stepping foot in the Exchange again, possibly from setting foot on the base period and if you live in MFH, you could be kicked out.. and by extension, your sponsor.

Also as a dependent your sponsor will face punishments because of your actions.

you have no excuse.  at 19 you could have had a job that afforded you the opportunity to buy the shirt.

  3. are you active duty?  You should know better...if you are you will be in trouble...LOTS of trouble...ART 15 and probably more.

If you are dependent you could run the risk of your family getting kicked off post because of it. I saw it happen to a good friend of mine.  They were allowed to stay BUT their son was not allowed in any AAFES facilities and he had to pay the fine.

You should have thought about how important that shirt was before you tried to steal it I guess huh???

  4. Only if you don't pay the fine. I dislike thieves!

  5. Are you a dependent? You parents chain of command will be notified and you may cause them to lose exchange and/or commissary benefits. You are an adult and you need to act like one.

  6. I think you are telling a story.  Too many things that you say are incorrect.  Try it again someone else, somewhere else may believe your story, but I think you are full of it.

  7. wow dude, thats sad. Stealing from the base exchange.....Thats low, real low..

  8. Many military installations have agreements with the state or country they are located. If you are a civilian (dependent or other civilian) you can be tried and convicted of a crime by the state authorities.

Were you arrested or detained by civilian law enforcement?Did you go before a civilian judge? If so then yes. Depending on the local laws you can and likely will be prosecuted by the local jurisdiction.  It doesn't' matter if it was on the military base. If they turned your case over to local authorities then it is up to them.

You entilted to a court appointed lawyer if you are as poor as you say..I suggest you use that right.
