Can i go to walmart to get my eyes checked?

Question

i clearly know i need glasses [[im near sighted]]

but im not at home [[im at my grandparents house in a diff state]]

and i think my eye sight is getting worse since im waiting to get back home

what i was thinking was:::: can i go to walmart to get my eyes checked?

and if i need em will they subscribe them to me there?

i have my health card [[w.e thingy]]

Yes Walmart is a very good place to go. They are independent doctors, which means that they are not a Walmart Employee so they are not paid off of what they sale to you. It's called Pure Optometry. Sometimes when you go to a place that does not use Independent doctors they are paid on commission to sell you certain lenses, which often times ends up not working for you. The doctors that work at the Walmarts are all about your eye health

If you give them a call they can take your address pull up all of the Walmarts in your area that have an eye doctor and can give you the price of the exam, and help you set up an appointment.  As far as the comment about Walmart doctors not being real doctors or whatever, that is completely false. There are only 16 schools of Optometry in the U.S. so no matter where you go the doctor had to have gone to one of those schools.

Not all Wal-Marts have an optical department. Some of them do, you would have to find out if the one that you are going to does and that they have an optometrist there.

If so, he/she can give you your prescription, then you just go to the optical (which is always right next door) and have it filled. Some health cards only help with the exam and not the glasses themselves.

They will be able to tell you that when either you call or go into the store. I would call ahead and ask all of your questions before you went.

Yeah they have eye dr in Most super walmart.

Yes you can and they are good.

You can but I would not recommend it.  I work for an ophthalmologist who is a medical dr.  We fix ALOT of (walmart or cheap places that like) thier s***w ups!!! If you have no choice and you need something to get by do what u must just be aware that you get what you pay for

Yes you can get your eyes checked for glasses or contacts at wal-mart they fill your prescprition there if you want them to sometimes you get your glasses in a day or two contacts the same day
