Can i have a CD player and a system installed into my car even if my car only has a radio?

I have a 1989 Chevrolet Corsica and I am looking in to putting some money into its system. but the only problem is my car only has a radio and no openings for where a cd player or even a cassette player would be. what are my options it my first car and it runs perfectly and it would be a real let down to have to stay with its old radio.

Take out the radio and purchase an aftermarket stereo which has a cassette player or cd player or you can get both

Hit one of your local stereo shops and they can make all kinds of recommendations . Shop around .
