  1. Yes you can....

You should be able to work within any childcare establishment, and maybe even continue your training.

You might not be able to be left on your own or be able to do certain jobs take over keycarer role or do planning but good luck in your seach.

  2. is it level 5 now  if not don't think u will get much for that  can u go back  and get higher qualification do voluntary work in childcare u can do it u are brill

  3. dont bother the moneys cr*p!!!! used to be a quaified nursery nurse (NNEB) but went back to uni as the money isnt enough to live off!!!

  4. You can work in any child care facility from breakfast and after school care to schools, nurseries, playgroups etc. all subject to references and crb checks.

However as a nursery manager i would probably encourage you to undertake an nvq 2 or 3 as i have found candiadates with those qualifications have had more hands on experience and a better understanding of childcare and the law.  However your qualification is a good starting point. If you wanted to prgress to superviser or manager status you would def need to do an nvq 3 so depends on your career plan

Sad as it is there is more paperwork involved in childcare these days  and the greater understanding you have the easier it is, which also means more time to spend actually doing what you enjoy and spend time with the children

good luck hope you find a job soon

  5. Yes Pre-schools and nurseries will take you on, but I think you would need to make an agreement to work towards and level 3 qualification. Two of my staff members are level 2 qualified and a third is working towards hers.

Ignore the lady who said it was a poorly paid job.  If you are willing to train then you will be paid more and if you work towards and Foundation degree and Early Years Professional Status you will be paid very well this also qualifies you to teach reception class.

You just have to be willing to train.  It is a fantastic job and very rewarding and I love doing it - I don't do it for the money but for the love of the job!

  6. You can work with young children/toddlers in nurseries etc.

You wouldn't be able to work at schools or teach at a school with only that certificate

  7. I'm sure you can.  I know a lot of daycares are set up so that in the morning, there are mostly trained teachers, certified in Early Childhood education.  In the afternoon, after naptime, people who aren't trained in Early Childhood, but who are responsible and work well with children, take over to do afternoon snack, playtime/coloring, recess, and pick-up.  These second-shifters are required to have a high school diploma or GED, and usually get CPR-certified.  My kids' daycare is like that, and my sister worked at a daycare while she was working through college.

If someone with only a high school diploma or GED can get a job at many daycares, I'm sure you can, with your level two certificate.

  8. U can probably get an assistant job in pre-schools, playgroups, day care...but would have to train up to NVQ3 or equivalent to get any higher! I heard rumours that they want everyone to be NVQ3 or above to work in childcare...not sure how true that is!

Look up local chidlcare provisions and send out your CV. Try looking on:http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.as...

    Good luck!

  9. You can work in any childcare establishment but only in a supporting role. You will need to study for your level 3 if you want to become a supervisor.
