Can i have a re evaluation at meps for my mental health?

or do i have to get a re evaluation from a doctor before hand. I dont take meds or anything and am perfectly fine without them. but just wondering if i would enlist and just have to have a test done at meps or if i need to have my own doctor state that im fine

I mean im 18. i really believe my problems were just because of school and hormones. two docs said i had depression, but its been 2 months since and havent had a problem yet

  1. Hard question to answer.  Two months is not a significant period of time, I'd say, to evaluate once's own mental health.  A military lifestyle can only heighten certain types of depression if you are susceptible to them already.

  2. I think you have to wait a year since you last saw a therapist or took medication. Even then, you will need a waiver.

Edit: I don't think anyone is immune to becoming depressed. Many people suffer from depression later in their lives. h**l, I think all high school kids suffer from depression at one point in their careers. That sad, having two doctors diagnose you as depressed probably means you are depressed or recovering from depression. Your options are to wait or to lie about. I am not suggesting for you to lie; i think you should wait it out and see what happens and mature a bit. If you did lie about it, I think it would be a mistake. I have seen your posts before. I think you need to work some issues out before you even plan on enlisting. They aren't going to check your medical records, but I have a feeling the depression will come back in boot camp if you haven't yet developed coping skills.
