Yes you can have both.They dont pose any problem to each other.Try to get the latest version of both browsers.IE & or IE8 beta and FireFox 3

Yes it's possible. In fact, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to uninstall internet explorer without hacking (it's so rooted in the system).
