Can i have help trying to convince my mom to get me a rat?

Question

i alredy have the food, water, cage, beding, and a wheel at my dad's house and i found a person who will give me one but one huge problem comes in, my mom hates all rodents---especilaly rats

they are really friendly, you can train rats really well too. they hardly ever bite, and they're really just laid back kinda guys (or girls.) but yeah, definitely just tell her youll take good care of it and you wont bother her with it out if she's scared of them

First of all, you should not get a single rat. Rats are highly social animals and should always be kept in same s*x pairs or groups. It sounds like you haven't done nearly enough research into their care.

Did you make sure the bedding isn't pine or cedar? Is the cage a large, multi-level one? Is the wheel solid and not wire? I've found that the best way to convince parents is show them how much research you've done into the pet. It shows them how much you want them. That's how I convinced my parents to let me get rats. Show her that you can be responsible enough by doing reasearch and showing her that rats arnt as scary as they seem

That is a hard one. Most ppl already think that rats are dirty and carry diseases. This however is not true. Comparing a domestic rat to a wild rat is like comparing a tiger to a house cat. Maybe you should explain this to your mom and do some reserch on pet rats and show her. It always helps to taking her to someones house that has lovable pet rats that give kisses. Kisses always worked. My friends hated my girls till they realized how docile and friendly and loveable they were.

get like a poster board or put pieces of paper to gether and say why you want a rat, pictures of them, saying you'll be really nice to her once you get htem.  add on their that they're really smart, loving, you can train them to come to yoou when called, they never bite, and the reason people hate rats is cause they are too smart for people to get them out of their house... theyre as smart as a dog!
