Question:

Can i have these fish together, is it overstocked?

can i put 6 tiger barbs and 1 red tail shark, OR 1 albino rainbow shark with the tiger barbs (if i can find one), my tank is a 20 gallon tank(not the long ones) it has a filter, heater, driftwood, fake plants, and 4" air-stone. If i can can u tell me which shark needs less care, and is easier to keep.

  1. Yes, but NO MORE FISH other that those! Only get once shark! The only sharks that don't kill each other are bala sharks, but they need to be in schools and get to big for your tank.I have seen red tail sharks and albino rainbows at petsmart, and there care is the same. Not very sure if they will eat flake for you, try frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp and gradually switch over to flake. Good luck!


  2. You should be fine with those fish and the size of the tank, but do not attempt to put more into it. I'm not to sure about the sharks, but I assume since they are both "sharks" the care should be almost the same, shouldn't it? otherwise what you could do is research the comparison on the net and ask those who have had experience with these fish. There are forums that you can join to get more answers if you are not satisfied here. Good luck.
