  1. You need a personal radio that can pickup radio and TV signals. They sell those in the store and have for many years. Of course, the radio only picks up public TV channels.


  2. Sure, it can be done. There are radios which get the audio portion of regular TV channels. However, as of Next February, it probably will no longer work. The channels are different for HDTV. I do NOT know if radios are being made which pick up HDTV audio or even if they exist yet. What I do is a little different. I have a small standard FM radio with earphones which I use frequently. It clips on my belt. I purchased a small FM transmitter, designed to be used with a CD or MP3 player so you can use one with your car radio. What I do is, use this FM transmitter with my TV via the earphone jack. It works well, though the range is only about 50 feet, but there is the advantage of no long cord connecting me to the TV.
