as a storage drive yes. as your main os drive no .you cane buy an enclosure to put you drive into as an external storage device but you still need one in your pc as the main operating drive.

No. External Hard drives go through USB ports. And your internal one has the points on the end to plug directly into your motherboard.

You cna get HDD enclusures, so these can plug in through USB, but on desktop harddrive will need external power supply.

most hardrives jsut plug in via SATA/IDE(sata for newer hdds of 2 years or less) if you plug it in internally. and wil lcome up as a normal hardrive.
