Can i hook my remote amp wire to my factory head unit in my pontiac

You can via the antenna power wire. Or you can do it the easier and less confusing way, wherein you tie it into a fuse that shuts on/off with the car (ie: window regulator, radio). Simply remove the fuse, wrap the wire around one of the metal leads and shove it back in. This will tell your amp to turn on/off when you start your car and your accessories (fuse pending) recieve power.

the fuse ideal will work pretty well, but if you have a power antenna i would go with that for reliability. just make sure you get a good connection.
