Question:

Can i host my friend that does not have a wireless chip my wireless signal through an ethernet cord?

ok well he has about a 7yr old laptop and it does not have a built in wireless detector. my laptop is newer and does have a wireless chip and i have a wireless signal at my house that i can connect to. would there be any way i could connect a Ethernet cord to both of our laptops and be a host a connection to him through my wireless? i set it up and it says it is connected on his laptop but when i go to properties of his connection it says no packets have been sent or recieved. what do i do?

  1. go to overstock and get a 19.99 wireless network adapter

    they work great, I have four on my older HPs


  2. Why doesn't he just plug into your router? I don't think there is a way to do what your asking, but you can just plug the Ethernet cord into the router and to his laptop
