  1. That should be just fine, but if you are trying to breed her then i wouldn't recomend just keeping her housed with the male for a long period of time. keep them seperated untill she is ready to breed and then put her with him for only a week or two and then remove her again.

  2. As long as they are around the same size, it should be fine.

  3. Don't do it.  Just save yourself the trouble. Honestly.  Different species have different tolerance levels to parasites, and each one carries their own unique mix of them.  Also, snakes of different species tend to eat each other. While ribbon snakes and most garter snakes have a very similar body plan and size, their habitats are different, and unless you have a lot of experience housing and caring for reptiles, you shouldn't attempt mixed species exhibits.

  4. Yes sure you can. They require the same needs and are cousins. Go ahead!

  5. Fuhgeddaboudit! They are not the same subspecies, not even the same species. You can't cross-breed them.

As far as housing, you might need a fairly large cage. Ribbon snakes tend to be more aquatic than garter snakes.
