Question:

Can i increase my Mbps to match my moms?

My mom and i have the same build of laptop a Dell Latitude D510, but for some bizarre reason, she gets 100Mbps, but I only get 54. Is there a way i can increase it?

  1. Are you both using wireless to connect?  If so, are they the same model wireless cards?  If the wireless is built in to the computer, then they probably are the same model.  If this is the case, you can go to Network Connections, right click on the wireless network adapter and choose Properties.  There at the top you should see a configure button.  On the Advanced tab, you should see an option like Link Speed and/or Duplex.  See if that is set to 54Mbps and if you can change it to Auto or 108Mbps.  If there is no option like that, you might see something like 802.11b/g/n.  If it is set to 802.11b, see if you can change it to use g or n.  Hope this helps!


  2. Is this wireless.???...if it is it sounds like u need a different wireless network card. most of these operate at a max of 54 mbps
