can i install a bike handbrake (V brake) on a cruiser that has coaster brakes (drill holes in frame to install the front and rear brake calipers?

  1. no.


  2. No, even if you drilled the holes, there's not enough metal in the forks or frame to tap good threads for the pivot bolts.   You need to have brake bosses.

  3. No. V-brakes require pivot posts that are welded on the frame which you do not have. If it has mounting holes for caliper brakes that's what you would have to use.

  4. Not a real good idea since that bike was not designed to have holes drilled there.  If the bike has a frame crossmember on the rear forks you can fit a sidepull brake.  There is a lot to do.  Use another bike for your example on what and where.  You can do it if you apply your best thinking.
