I would like to avoid having to get a plumber as well if I can.

It's an outdoor spa I bought on ebay. all the bits of PVC tubing are there, but need to be put back together, and there is a drain close by. How much do you think I'm up for?

  1. you will probably need a GFI breaker and a service disconnect within eyesight of the spa along with beefy 6-10 gauge wires...I just did one for customer the material alone cost me 250.00-the job was about 500.00 an electrician may charge more

  2. Do you have the installation manual, too? If not, you will need to be experienced in plumbing and spa installation as there are special considerations. With the manual, the maker should have considered all the requirements that spa will need, and listed them for you to adhere to.

The floor and foundation where the spa sits will need to be structurally sound for the immense weight - up to 10,000 pounds - that a spa can weigh filled. It's not like rolling a entertainment system or piano into the living room.

There's more to it than plumbing and electrical, if you've been doing substantial remodeling with an understanding of the total impact, you should be able to handle it.
