Without going to National Geographics standards, I still believe logic helps with the answer. For example, can I grow up and be President of the USA?  Certainly you wont work for the geographic unless you have a life sometimes filled with experience in the joy and uses of anthropology.  But experience can be more valuable than formal training.

You would have to convince the geographic  that you have something to offer!  And I doubt they would pay to train you
