  1. If the applicant admits to an offense, or the recruiter has reason to believe the applicant is concealing an offense, or a record is indicated during the Entrance National Agency Check (ENAC), then the recruiter will request a complete criminal record from local law enforcement agencies.

Some offenses can be waived, and others cannot. Recruiters themselves, do not have waiver approval/disapproval authority. Some waivers can be approved/disapproved by the Recruiting Battalion Commander, other waivers must be approved/disapproved by the Commanding General of the Army Recruiting Command.

It's important to note that applicants who require a waiver ARE NOT qualified for enlistment, unless/until a waiver is approved. The burden is on the applicant to prove to waiver authorities that they have overcome their disqualifications for enlistment, and that their acceptance would be in the best interests of the Army. Waiver authorities will consider the "whole person" concept when considering waiver applications. If a waiver is disapproved, there is no appeal (the waiver process itself is the appeal -- the individual is not qualified for enlistment and submits a waiver request, appealing to Army recruiting authorities to make an exception in his/her particular case).

Applicants with a criminal history (regardless of disposition) or questionable moral character, but because of dismissed charges, plea bargains, or release without prosecution, must have a suitability review for determination of enlistment. Reviewer will determine if a personal interview with the applicant is required, and if so may be accomplished telephonically. The suitability review team determines whether a waiver is required, regardless of how the criminal offense was disposed of by the courts.

Suitability review will be conducted on the following charges (regardless of disposition) prior to any moral waiver processing on all applicants:

Five or more minor nontraffic charges

    Two or more misdemeanor charges

Combination of four or more minor nontraffic or misdemeanor charges

    One serious criminal misconduct charge

Offenses/Moral Behavior Which Cannot be Waived

Prior service military with an RE code of "4"

Persons with a Bad Conduct or Dishonorable discharge.

  2. no, you blew it.  recruiter got you into the marine corps (you wanted in, right?), then you brought up something (from childhood) that didn't need discussing, got kicked out,  recruiter called on the carpet.  for what?  moment of truth?  no sense in it.

  3. You should have received a re-enlistment code when you were released from service.

If the code is "RE code 4," then no branch of the military will take you, except the National Guard.

If the code is "RE code 3," or above (2 or 1), you can enlist but it will be very difficult to get a recruiter to work with you.

Needless to say - don't lie this time around.  There's a reason that there are medical disqualifications, but you're actually very eligible for a waiver for childhood asthma.  I received one and it only took 3 weeks.

  4. Yes, you can join the Army; PROVIDED that you sign a waiver of release and IF the Doctor performing the physical, states you are "healthy" enough to join.

  5. yes the doctor there can pass u and let u go if it ended then then u should be able to pass

  6. YOU have to go to a civilian doctor and he has to run tests to show if you have or don't have asthma!

You will have to pay for this from your own pocket!

If you are cleared then you can present this to the Army recruiter!

It also depends on the RE-code on your DD214.

Did they not test you at MEPS prior to going to USMC Boot Camp?!

  7. As you learned with your Marine Corps incident, HONESTY IS KEY!!! Lay everything out on the line, and you shouldn't have a problem in this case. They may ask you why Army, though.

  8. yes just tell them when you go to the recruiters office i went in  after a petty theft charge they delayed my inlistment and i filed a waiver with three personal friends as recommendation and then three professionals like teachers and preachers , the three persoal friends were a retired airforce lt col and a sgt mjr of the marines and a minister and the teachers included the doctor of biology at my high school so i got in served three active army and three active reserve
