  1. Yes, but you can only jump English, so you need to break him English. Some horses just accept English tack, but others will buck, rear, roll, anything to get it off. But good luck!

  2. You will have to trian him english, and then teach him to jump. Tennessee walkers are mainly used for endurance on the flat because of their build, but good luck with getting him to jump

  3. YEA of coarse you can jump him. I have a half TN walker and a Half Mustang. She jumps just fine and loves it. The only thing that I worry about is she is very fine bone which is common for TW and dont want to damage her legs but she enjoys it and we stay under 3ft

  4. Every horse knows how to jump, but make sure if you do jump him you don't jump him very high and stress his legs since he is still a baby. Start out with cavaletti or ground poles for a while (a few months or more), and take some english lessons first. I suggest if you haven't had any experience jumping or riding english, or even if you have, GET A TRAINER that does know how, that way you don't hurt your horse or yourself. You should be very careful for his, and your sake. Take it very slowly, and don't do it without a professional helping you. Do not harm your horse or be unfair to him in any way. You want to put some sort of leg protection on him if you do jump.

  5. if you want your horse to learn to jump place fence posts on the ground and have him walk/trot over them.. next put something under the posts.. like two pieces of wood to make it go higher.. once he gets good at this keep raising and working at it. i would also start training your horse to do a little english before starting to jump... get him used to the different saddle.

  6. Well first off you should find out if he has had any jumping experience in the past. If he has, you'll just need to refresh him, if not or if it was a very long time ago, he'll probably need to be trained again.

First off, begin with trotting him over poles on the ground (be sure they are spread at a good distance for his stride). Later, try place a set of standards on either side of the poles, to get him used to passing through the standards. Then move up to going over the poles at a canter, he may try to jump them all at once so be sure to keep his stride in chech.

Once he's accustomed to that, you can try raising the pole to a very low height and having him free jump over it. Then try riding him over it, but be sure to keep him balanced and have him moving forward.

Some horses just aren't good at jumping, they don't have the coordination to do it or the impulsion. But if you work him him regularily, and move in little increments every time, things should hopefully go well for you!

  7. to y jump him you should probobly start him on troting poles and slightly raise them everytime when you get higher if he isn't jumping right go back to the trotting poles and go through the procus again

  8. I bought an all western cow horse and he jumps great! He is 17 to! You need to first go over trot poles at the walk, trot, and canter. Then raise it  A LITTLE! Then walk him over it and trot him over it. Keep doing this and when he gets good at the small ones try it at the bigger ones! Good Luck and hope I helped!!

  9. Depending on who this horse is and whom you get him trained by it's either a yes or a no.

    Point blank.

    Horse training isn't a game.

  10. it will take a really long time, because walkers aren't trained to jump AND he does western. get english down first then do ground poles for a long time. GO SLOWLY
