I'll certainly back you up on this! I'm American, living in Austin, Texas; but on the occasions when I've been in Ireland on holiday, the people of Ireland have always been delightful! They have a well-deserved reputation for hospitality, kindness and witty talk, which have been aspects of Irish culture for centuries.

I play Irish harp, and the Irish are often a little surprised and pleased that an American is carrying on their old traditions, especially as I have no Irish blood myself--I consider it my vocation, rather than due to a simple accident of birth. The Irish have much to be proud of.

I'm glad to hear that you had a similarly lovely experience there.
