Question:

Can i keep 2 Red Clawed Crabs in a 2.5 gallon fish tank.?

I was at Petsmart yesterday and saw a 2.5 gallon rectangular fish tank, it dident come with anything just the tank.

And i want to make a plaudarium( Aquatic/Land area) our of it and add a couple Red Clawed Crabs in it. Do you think i can do it?

  1. Sure that is fine while the crabs are babies.  I would have gotten a 5 or 10 g tank though.  The 2.5 should be good for a little bit.


  2. no!!!!!!!!!!!! they are brackish water creatures. you will not maintain proper salinity measures in that small of a tank. they also need half water and half land. your tank is way to small. take it back to the store and get a 10 gallon.
