  1. no those two will fight together.  what you might want to look into if you want another shark is Bala Sharks. The one problem with bala sharks is that they grow pretty large, 12-15 inches so you need a large tank.  They are also a schooling fish so you are going to need about 3 of them.  They are very neat to watch.

  2. I would say they could  all be suitable beginner fish, Red tail and Rainbows only reach 6" and have no special requirements. BUT, only one per tank, and make sure it's big enough to house a 6" fish.

Balas are also easy to keep, they just grow so BIG.  Any beginner with a 6ft tank will have no problem keeping 2 or 3 of them though.

  3. No. RTBS and Rainbow Sharks are very closely related, and they will fight. Even one of these will require a large tank of 50+ gallons.

Bala Sharks grow to be huge, (over a foot,) are schooling fish who need to be kept in groups, and require a 100+ gallon tank.

None of these fish are good beginner fish either.

I suggest that you thoroughly research any fish that you're interested in before bringing it home:

Also, be sure that you read up on cycling your tank if you have not already done so:

Finally, avoid Walmart, Petsmart, and the like and find a good aquarium store in your area, (not a pet store, an aquarium store that sells only fish and fish related merchandise,) where you will be sure to get better advice/trouble-shooting and healthier fish.

    Good luck!
