  1. If you mean angelfish then no you can't keep them in cold water, they're warm water fish.

Angelfish should be kept in a warm aquarium, ideally around 80°F.

    Buy a heater.

  2. If you mean angler fish, yes.  They're a deep water, saltwater fish and need to be kept in very cold water.

If you're referring to either marine or freshwater angelfish, they're both tropical and need higher temperatures.

FW angels are sensitive to water conditions, and will not do well in temps below 74 F.  Better is 76-80 F.

  3. First of all Angle fish are tropical, therefor they need heat, (68 to 70 degrees) or they will get ICK ( small white spots all over the fish) it's caused from cold water, or a drastic water temp change..You need to get a heater in your tank..the only fish that I know of that doe's well in cold water is goldfish..you also have to climate the water first, is it a new tank? When you buy fish and bring them home you must "float" the bag in your tank first for at least 15 minutes before your release the fish into the tank..Good Luck

  4. nah, sorry man, they will not survive, the only fish that can handle those temperatures are some danios, goldfish, and bettas, with a few other exceptions, sorry man

  5. Take the fish back to the store as you're clearly not prepared to keep them. Angelfish are tropical cichlids, they need a stable heated tank (about 40 US gallons high minimum for a pair).

Take the fish back and research fish care before you buy anything more.

With regards to another poster, bettas are tropical fish, as are danios (who will tolerate sub tropical but not coldwater).

  6. Ideally angels are better of in a heated aquarium between 22-28 degrees celcius, where i work in an aquatics centre i often get people comming in that have tropical fish in a cold water tank that say its lived there happily for years, and yes they will the reason we sell them and reccomend that they are in a heated aquarium is that they are more prone to infections and diseases in a cold water tank.

i would advise that you go out and get a heater that is suitable for your tank as long as you dont have any gold fish or fantail gold fish like orandas and black moors or a chinese hill stream loach then the cold water fish will be happy in a heated aquarium.

Another thing is that many people are saying to take your fish back where i work they will not accept fish back as diseases could be spread to their stock  so it is highly likely that you  will not be able to take them back.  so its better to get a heater.

  7. Take them back.. They need a heater.. If you want cold water fish, get some goldfish

Please dont kill beautiful fish like Angels, please take them back to the store. Or go and buy a heater..

  8. No, it will die
