  1. Your question is kind of sketchy. If you want her to lay more eggs you could give her some calcium in her egg food. IF she is only laying two eggs at a time don't keep any babies out of this hen. They should lay 4-6 eggs with 5 being the usual. They can raise three clutches of babies if you are only talking about one or two babies per clutch.  I only let my hens sit on two clutches a year. They usually hatch four or five babies per nest. I pull the male out when the second set of babies are two weeks old. He is put in a big flight cage. As soon as the babies are out of the nest I take the nest out of the cage. I make sure that I am backing the hen off of the egg food as the babies learn to eat. Then when they are eating and drinking on their own I take them out and put them in the weaning cage. The female is also then put in a big flight and will stay there till pulled for breeding the next season.
