Can i keep my old number if i switch from T-Mobile to AT&T?

okay, ive had my t-mobile dash for a long while now, but i really wanna switch to AT&T for the new 3G iPhone but it's crucial that i keep my old number, is this possible?

  1. Yes you can..provided you keep the account in the current account holder's name. The process is called Local Number Portability. You would have to provide the current carrier's info example Carrier's name, number to be ported, account holder's info etc. Be sure not to disconnect service with the old carrier before the number is activated to your new phone. Many people cancel their service before the port is successfully competed and end up losing their numbers. I believe almost every phone carrier, cellular, landline, voip etc offer that option. I would suggest you speak to a representative to see if that's an option. Good Luck!

  3. Yes. It is very possible. Make sure u take a copy of a tmobile bill to the at&t store with you. They will need the account number from it. But other than that it shouldn't be a problem at all :)
