  1. If you want them to mate then you can keep them together at the same place

But if you don't you should separate them.

  2. no u cant have hen and c***s in the same cage and have infertile eggs.

    hope all goes well!!!

  3. Yes, you can keep roosters and hens together and they should be fine. Many people think that eggs are demented or inedible when they are fertile. Some people say that blood spots are little chicks in the making. But, they aren’t. In fact a blood spot is just a broken blood vessel in the egg, they have nothing to do with the egg being fertile or not. If a chick has started to grow you will see a small white spot on the yolk. But, you can still eat fertile eggs if they are collected early enough. So collect them that day or shortly after and they should be fine.

Beware however when you add the roosters to the flock there will be some fighting not only between the roosters, but also with the hens. So I would defiantly watch the birds for the first hour or so just to make sure that all goes well.

Also, keep in mind that the ideal flock size is 10-15 hens per rooster (bantam) and 6-8 hens per rooster (standard). If you have roosters over that limit then your hens may get mated to often and lose feathers on their back.

Good luck, and I hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to contact me via email.

  4. Don't worry your fine! It doesn't matter, you CAN eat fertile eggs, you won't even notice a difference because there is no difference in taste. You might just notice a small white dot, and don't worry about the bloody spots you need to leave them there for quite a while for them to do that, and lets not forget that you need the hen to sit on them of course.

    Let them mate!

  5. You can still eat the eggs, but they will be fertile. Sometimes you can't even see anything indicating the eggs being fertile.

Supposedly in the times of the birds molting,or in the Autumn or winter the Cockerels/roosters are INfertile. whether This is true or not,if its cold this has been true with mine,as the eggs never developed into embryos.

    Hope this has helped! =D
