  1. with a divider of course you can

  2. Sure! I've never tried but I have seen people who keep 2 male bettas in a 10 gallon aquarium - 5 gallons per betta. The person had A LOT of live plants, though, growing through the divider and around the tank so they couldn't see each other. If they did they would slam into the divider constantly to try to get to the other male. If you don't want to do a lot of live plants, go for a opaque divider, just make sure it has holes for the water to flow. Make sure the divider goes a good 3 to 4 inches to make sure the bettas can't jump over the divider. Another tip is to have a filter on each side. A small sponge filter would be fine, you just want to make sure each side gets enough filteration and not one side is over-filtered while the other has none.

  3. Yes you can, as far as I've seen, but if they get different acting, seperate them.

  4. If it's see-through, no. They will ram themselves into the glass or plastic until it dies. If it has a wallpaper or anything not clear, yes. They won't be able to see the other so it would be like the other wasn't even there at all to him. Good luck!

  5. Yes but make sure that there are a bunch of plants in front of the glass so they don't try to attack each and ram themselves on the glass. Also make sure the tank is a good enough size.

  6. With an opaque divider, yes. If you use a clear divider, they will be constantly stressed and trying to kill each other. They might kill themselves ramming the divider or jump out of the tank (yes, bettas jump!). There shouldn't be any problems with an opaque divider, though. Just make sure there's holes for the water to flow through.

  7. If it is transparent they will attack eachother and ram themselves into the glass, but they are clever fish and will soon realise they are not doing any damage. You will have one fun show watching them scheme to kill the other fish.

  8. yes, you can do that but try to use a divider that won'e allow them to see each other. This will prevent them from flaring at each other and stressing themseles.
