  1. No, that is much too small for two rats. I wouldn't even keep one in it personally.

    You can use this:

to determine how many rats you can comfortably cage.

  2. i guess you could but the question is would YOU??

  3. bigger! you need lots of levels for them to get exercise

  4. I agree with everyone else, this cage is far too small, and if you ask me, waaay too much money for a completely inadequate rat home.

Firstly, if you notice, they do not give dimensions on the website. The picture is what gives you an idea of size. As it is next to the Carefresh bedding package, and frankly, no bag of bedding is an indication of a large cage. Secondly, you can see that the cage has wire shelving and a wire ramp. This is very unsafe for a rat's feet. Not only can they get their legs caught and injured in the wiring, but they can also get something called bumblefoot, which is basically a painful, and untreatable sore on their feet. So for $80, you get a small cage that can hurt their feet. Overall, I would say it's a bad choice.

If you are willing to spend that amount of money, may I recommend some other choices for you?

This cage is approved for two rats (using the cage size calculator). It has solid shelving, solid ramps and a nice, solid wheel. It also comes with a food dish. It is very safe, and large enough for your rats. It doesn't come with the bedding, but truthfully, you can get a bag of the Carefresh for $20 and it will last you forever in this cage, at least a month. Or you can spend $15 and get a bag of Yesterday's News. Either way, you are only spending a little bit extra for a nice cage with a wheel and the bedding.

If you want to go bigger, this cage is great. I have it for some of my rats and I find it wonderful. Again, it has solid shelving and ramps, and comes with a food dish. The only drawback is the wheel, but you can replace that with a solid one for very little money. And this cage is a total of $19 more than the cage you were looking at. Quite a deal, if you ask me. It's large enough to keep 4 rats safely, so you would be giving your little ones a lot of extra room. Trust me, the cage is awesome, and a lot of fun. Easy to put together and clean too!

I certainly hope you consider one of these cages over the one you looked at originally. Both are safe and a lot of fun. I've owned both of them and had no trouble with them. Good luck in your decision!

  5. Keep them in a wire cage.

  6. no no, get a much bigger cage, they need a lot fo room to run around and play and that is too small.  And plus, with a cage that small how would you put in all the toys and llittle things you may get for them?
