Can i learn to play the drums in 2 months?

I think the other people answering this question have a very different definition of "playing drums" than I do. Can you learn to play a beat or two in 2 months...yes. Can you be a drummer in 2 months...no freaking way. Anyone that thinks they can has set the bar very low for what they consider a drummer. You could be an okay drummer in 2 years maybe. It takes 5 to 10 years to really master the instrument and some people just never can master the drum set. Yeah I know I'll get some thumbs down for this but it is what it is. I have been a professional studio and touring drummer as well as an instructor for 30 years, what is on the rest of these folk's resume? The person above playing 8 hours a day?? I seriously doubt that.

Well, i learned to do the basic rock beat in about two minutes, so yes, i think you could, provided you have the coordination

Well you wouldn't be very good but you should be able to do a few beats.

with a good teacher u could b killing it in 2 months, by self teaching for 2 months, u can, potentially get good, then again it all depends on how often u practice. wen i started learning, i LITTERALLY played every day for 4-8 hours a day. i got really really good fast but since im self taught, im hitting a wall after about a year. if u have a teacher ull do really well. i need sum instruction myself.
