  1. Sorry you had a run in with ACA ther ...:):)

I live in Acapulco and have a boat and jetski. Your gonna love it !

OK - No insurance needed. You are suppose to register though. A good deal of boats I see have expired #'s. You are supposed to register as they want $$$, No insurance though - Kinda strange. I guess if something goes wrong it's your butt not mine mentality. If you rent to tourist's - I'd have it. I have both of mine at a fresh water lagoon ( huge ) just outside of Acapulco. Both are registered but not insured. There are not a ton of boats and jetskis on the lake, so I figure I can risk that. To be honest and you will see, if you were EVER pulled over and asked for registration the bribe would be about 100pesos to each man. I'm serious. Im thinkin about letting mine expire and keeping a couple 100 pesos on the boat ! :)

You can buy them here - but from a John Doe Mexican - I dunno know. Dealerships - maybe 1 in Cancun , maybe 2.

Maybe visit a repair shop and see what they got that is running , and for sale ? I bought mine ( jet skii ) in Atlanta and

shipped it with my container when I moved. Boat I stumbled on here and couldnt pass up the deal. I really would buy in the states and ship here some how............Really would. I would check and see what manufactor has a good service shop in Cancun because it will break, and you will need parts. Ive had to have friends in the states obtain ,and send me parts. It takes forever here for parts sometimes . things to consider.

Consider the salt water and storing it out of water. You gotta flush the motor with fresh water so the d**n toy lasts. the corrosion is a mo fo..............

i saw you also may need to tow on occasion. Counting on others when you want to be on the water sucks. Short tow ? - four wheelers are awesome and its another fun toy . Im gettin one next to cruise the beach at night and just " play " with !

Longer tow ? I doubt taxi. Make friends ( which you will ) or buy a truck or car with a hitch.

Another unforseen benifit - its not unusual for tourist's ( gringos ) to spot me as an American , strike up a conversation , buy beer and want to PAY me for a ride in the boat , water skii or RENT the jet skii. As long as thier not too wasted and seem like pretty good people . or pay me in advance I RENT the d**n thing and make a $$$$ !! I love Mexico. The local kids will love you. Its a great way to meet people and have fun !!!!!!

  2. Where are you going to leave it? At your vacation house? If it isn't registered how could you prove it was yours if someone took it from you.Ever heard that old saying;"possession is 9/10ths of the law"? Without liability insurance in Mexico you could go to jail for a very long time if you injured someone. The other poster is exactly right in that it would be more expensive to buy in Mexico as in the U.S.Shipping costs from the US are also very expensive....and he is also correct in asking how you will get it to the water unless your vacation house is on the water and you can chain it to your dock.No offense intended, but I think that you probably have not really thought this through as thoroughly as you should.

  3. I will stop at --You are planning to get a vacation house.

If you can afford to do that then your other questions are redundant.

This is not a good site to go phishing.

Sounds to me like you already know of the answers you are asking.

I will do my best to address your question with a few of my own.

You do not plan on driving here ever.  How do you plan on moving your jetski from place to place in Cancun?

Are you buying a "Vacation House"?

The cost of a "Waverunner" in Mexico (used) is twice as much as in the .U.S

Can you leave it in Mexico?

I dont care about ratings and best answers but I dont think your question as as serious as it appears
